Roundtable “Science today: significance, policy, challenges, achievements, problems, and prospects” (As activity of the UNEVOC Centre in Russian Federation, based at BIST)

On February 12, 2026 our institute became an international platform for a scientific interactive session to popularize and enhance the effectiveness of scientific research, promoting expert exchange of scientific knowledge, ideas, experiences and prospects for developing the integration of science, education, business and government, taking into account the interests and opportunities for training qualified specialists.

The purpose of the roundtable is to develop proposals for forming a unified scientific and educational strategy for the development of quality vocational and technical education and training within the Sustainable Development of Russian Federation and other countries, based on the cooperation of scientific, educational organizations, businesses, and industries.

THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE ROUND TABLE CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING TASKS:

  1. To develop proposals for forming a unified scientific and educational strategy for higher and vocational education.
  2. To identify priority areas for scientific research and development – environmentally safe technologies, green economy, artificial intelligence, creation of new materials with specified properties, public health preservation, and other relevant fields.
  3. To form sustainable scientific and educational ties between universities, institutes, and businesses – identifying potential for interaction and creating joint laboratories.
  4. To discuss issues such as specialist training, the deficit of competencies in new professions, and the need to modernize laboratory and production facilities.
