On April 29, 2026 our students joined the global online BeChangeMaker Youth Festival, organized by the UNESCO-UNEVOC with the support of WorldSkills International.
The event brought together more than 300 young leaders, students of vocational education programs and the BeChangeMaker network from all over the world. This is the second annual festival which takes place under the motto “Being a creator of change: skills for living in the future economy”.
The festival has become a starting point for students to participate in other activities of the BeChangeMaker ecosystem. The key topic of discussion is the formation of a “toolbox of a change leader”. Experts and practitioners have identified the skills that every student needs today:
- critical thinking and the ability to analyze complex situations;
- emotional resilience and adaptability;
- effective communication and teamwork;
- digital literacy and the ethical justification of decisions;
- the ability to learn independently throughout life.
Our students noted that these competencies help young people not only navigate the rapidly changing world, but also become leaders of positive changes in their educational institutions and professional communities.
All participants of the festival were acquainted with the initiatives of young social entrepreneurs from different countries. The projects are aimed at solving the current problems of reducing climate vulnerability, overcoming digital inequality and combating youth unemployment.
The participation in the BeChangeMaker Youth Festival is a part of the UNEVOC Center’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainable development and social partnership principles into the educational process at BIST.
For our students this great dialogue provided an opportunity to witness how theoretical knowledge translates into real-world social and business solutions as a success currency for the future life.
