The grand opening of the UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre in the Russian Federation on the base of Bashkir Institute of Social Technologies took place on 7 December 2012.
There were a lot of official guests: deputy director of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Executive Secretary of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO George Ordzhonikidze; The Secretary of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO Kseniya Gaverdovskaya; Deputy Chairman of the Russian Committee for UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Program Valeriy Neronov; the President of the State Russian House of Folk Art and the Chairperson of the Russian Committee for the Safeguarding of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Elvira Kunina; the Chairman of the Russian Committee of the Information for All UNESCO Program Eugenie Kuzmin; the Minister of Education of Bashkortostan Republic Alfis Gayazov; Chief Executive Officer of the Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for UNESCO Ulfat Yumaguzin; Deputy Head of Administration of Ufa city, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Syntimir Bayazitov.
The event was very solemn. The students presented their projects, members of the Children’s Chamber told about their plans. In the laboratory of the UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre Tanzilya Nigmatullina introduced the projects that were already realized in the framework of the Centre and the plans for the future to those who were present. Later, George Ordzhonikidze and Alfis Gayazov cut the ribbon in the Conference Hall; Tanzilya Nigmatullina presented them and Ulfat Yumaguzin with the symbol of our Centre, i.e. the tree as a symbol of development and prosperity of the ideas of the UNESCO-UNEVOC Movement.
