Competition «I’d become a factory worker if someone taught me»

In October and November 2016 the UNESCO and UNEVOC Centre in the Russian Federation housed by the Bashkir Institute of Social Technologies, together with its partners — the Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for UNESCO, the Office of Educational Administration of city district, Ufa, the Republic of Bashkortostan, and the Trade Union Federation of the Republic of Bashkortostan held a competition «I’d become a factory worker if someone taught me». The purpose of the competition was to widen the students’ knowledge of the variety of the professions including workers and their importance in the economic development of the region, to prepare the students for the conscious choice of their future career path, educational path and career strategy.
More than 200 high school students of Ufa took part in the. Following its results, a collection of articles was published which presented the participants’ reflections on very important youth issues such as: «My choice is a worker’s profession», «What I think about his professional future», «My parents’ occupation: I want to continue the family tradition…», «I choose a rare profession…».
